Eco-art psychotherapy helps us to feel at home in the family of things. To loosen our grip on the dual mind (good vs. bad), befriend the unwelcome parts of us, heal past our traumas, savor moments mundane, dance with the ever-changing rhythms of relationship, and find our grounding as we open to the unknown. Wild Embrace Healing supports you to heal your nervous system, awaken your intuition, find peace in being, and live with greater purpose. Eco-art psychotherapy is a process, a homecoming . . . to your body, to your breath, to the earth beneath you and the wisdom within you.
Wild Geese by Mary Oliver
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting —
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
Eco, from the Greek oikos, meaning “home.” Eco-art psychotherapy is an organic and creative path of finding your way home and back into acceptance of your wise self. We believe humans are inseparable from earth’s natural systems. We do not exist within nature - we are nature. We are social organisms and karmic creatures. Biologically, we need each other to survive (attachment) and we need to take action to thrive (adaptive / nervous system response).
Here, we work with plants, paint, breath, bones, sound, story, sensation, and spirit.
This is soulcraft.
This is a sanctuary.
Wild Embrace Healing supports adults and couples who are navigating stress, nervous system disorder, anxiety, depression, complex trauma, sexuality and intimacy, pregnancy and postpartum, end-of-life and terminal illness, psychedelic integration, career transition, and spiritual identity.
